The integration of the models developed in the Themes 1 to 4 will form an integrated manufacturing optimization system which will allow for optimizing primary and secondary manufacturing processes to maximize the value of individual trees based on both external stem geometry and internal wood characteristics. The integration of the tree-level product recovery simulation system with the growth models will also serve as a valuable tool for silvicultural planning. The manufacturing model will be integrated with operational and costs constraints in order to develop a decision-support system for the value-added forest industry.
